  • Family Volunteers come to the House to work or cook as a family.  Pick a day to come disinfect the toys, organize books and puzzles, cook, bake or do light yard work.  We customize the chores to fit your family size and ages.

  • Teen Volunteers at least 16 years old are welcome to give their time and talents to the House.  We work with school, church and civic groups by making their volunteer time meaningful.

  • House Bakers share their talents by making cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies or cakes in the House kitchen.  Do you have a box full of recipes with no mouths to feed?  Baked goods make a great welcome gift for families.

Volunteer Spotlight

Karen Taylor has been a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House since December 2009.  Karen has lived in Albuquerque for 50 years with her husband Tom and has three children,  Steve, Lisa and Mike and nine grandchildren.

She came to Ronald McDonald House to volunteer with her sister-in-law after hearing about it at church.  Karen says,"It's a great place to spend time (in retirement) and see what a wonderful thing Ronald McDonald House does for families." Thank you Karen!

Why Volunteer

Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico offers great opportunities to volunteer. We help in the healing process by keeping families together while their child receives medical treatment at a nearby hospital.   Our volunteers help by making a vital difference in the lives of the many people we serve by volunteering at the House, the Ronald McDonald Family Room® and at special events. You may be surprised to find out that you'll get more than you could ever expect from the experience.

Whether it is about contributing to a cause you care about, connecting with your community, making new friends or feeling better about yourself, there is no doubt that volunteering will affect you in a big way. Here at the Ronald McDonald House, volunteers play a crucial part in the day-to-day activities of the House, whether you are answering phones or setting up a room for an incoming family or helping keep the House clean and in order - each gives comfort to those who need it most and gives people hope knowing that people care.
