If you or someone you know can use our services, please contact a social worker at the hospital where the child is being treated or call the New Mexico Ronald McDonald House at 505/842-8960 or toll free in New Mexico at 877/842-8960. We serve all medical facilities in Albuquerque that care for pediatric patients. The House welcomes families regardless of race, religion, nationality, gender or abilities.
The House is frequently full and there is usually a waiting list. The uncertainty of a patients discharge date makes it difficult to guarantee a room. As soon as you know you need lodging, it is best to call and put your name on the wait list. Staff will give you instructions on how to proceed once your name is on the list. Families are usually placed on a first-come, first-served basis, however exceptions may be made at the discretion of the House Manager based on extenuating circumstances.
House staff will verify the hospital appointments and periodically review the status of the patients' treatment with the hospitals.
What is the cost of staying at the Ronald McDonald House?
Families are asked to make a donation of $15 a night. Donations can be made by cash, check or charge (Visa and MasterCard only).
What time can I check into the House?
Families need to check in between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. when there is a staff person on duty to help them register and give them a tour of the facilities. Check-in takes about 20 minutes, so plan accordingly.
How many people can stay in the room?
Each room has 1 double and 1 single bed that will accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. If you have more people in your party, they will have to find accommodations elsewhere. Only one room is assigned per family, as there is usually a wait-list with families needing a room.
