Who We Are

Ronald McDonald House Charities of NM (RMHC-NM) is a 501(c) 3 charitable nonprofit. Founded in 1982, the mission hasn’t changed- provide temporary affordable lodging and respite services to families with critically ill children.

RMHC-NM offers unduplicated family programs directly improving the health and well being of children. Our collaborative approach works with a network of Albuquerque pediatric referrals helping families remain intact while accessing the healthcare their children urgently need.

Our Ronald McDonald House plays a pivotal role in ensuring access to the best pediatric care in the region.

When a family is staying close to their child receiving treatment, medical services and training are more available and they are more capable of actively participating in their child’s care. Outpatient treatment is more recommended when caregivers know the family will be at frequent appointments. Affordability is forefront because we provide comfortable rooms at low or no cost, complimentary laundry and many meals while lodging up to 5 family members. The House accommodates family needs so they receive care at times that are convenient for the family since they are in close proximity to the hospital.

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room Program gives local families the same services and respite inside the walls of the UNM Children’s Hospital.
