How can I stay at your Ronald McDonald House?
- Contact the social service department at the hospital where your child receives treatment. They will place you on the waiting list for the day you arrive. You’re eligible if your child receives medical treatment in a local hospital or medical center, is under 18 years old, and your family lives 50 miles or more from Albuquerque.
Who owns and operates your Ronald McDonald House in Albuquerque?
- Our House is owned and operated by our organization, Ronald McDonald House Charities of NM, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit. A staff of 10 and hundreds of volunteers operate The House (Lodging Program). The Chapter is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. They handle oversight of finances, programs, development, standards and operations.
How is your House funded?
- Generous supporters like you help fund our Ronald McDonald House. The majority of our funds come from local individuals, organizations and businesses.
Doesn't McDonald's fund your Ronald McDonald House?
- Local McDonald’s restaurant owners are not responsible for our funding; however, they make generous gifts and place our donation boxes in their restaurants. Their gifts typically fund 10% of our annual operating budget.
How much does it cost to stay at your Ronald McDonald House?
- Families are asked to donate $15 a night. The fee is always waived for families who can’t afford it. Thanks to your contributions, it is a RMHC policy that a family never be turned away because of their inability to pay.
How long do families usually stay at your Ronald McDonald House?
- Stays can be as short as one night or as long as several months, depending on the child's illness and treatment.
