The Strength of Family: Ian’s Story continued

Ian has been through a lot this past year, and the family continues to adapt. With constant feeds, medications, and six different doctor’s visits each month, Ian is resilient. “We live in Jal, New Mexico, and it’s a six-hour drive, so coming from so far, it is great not to have to worry about where to stay, and it helps us save money each month.”Ian's Story

Kristine also shared that their four-year-old daughter, Alayna Ruth, makes the trip with them. “The Ronald McDonald House serves our every need when we are there. The kitchen, the laundry room, the guest rooms, and the den are so nice.” Alayna Ruth loves the “McDonald House,” The den is her favorite room because she loves going in there and playing games. She also adores the therapy dogs that visit each week.

Kristine and Ruben have met other families while staying at the House. “It’s nice to be able to talk about everything we are going through. Having that support can help get through those times,” Kristine shares, “the House helps so many families stay close to their children, and it gives families so much more than just a place to stay. It’s providing hope, love, support, and care. We wouldn’t have been able to get through this journey without it.”
